MartechDB vs G2
G2 tells you what people think of a tool. MartechDB tells you whether your AI agent can use it.
This page covers G2, Capterra, GetApp and Software Advice.
01
What G2 is
G2 is a software review marketplace for business software. In January 2026 it agreed to buy Capterra, Software Advice and GetApp from Gartner, and the deal closed in February 2026, so all four sites now have one owner. G2 says the combined sites hold nearly 6 million verified reviews and reach more than 200 million software buyers a year. It also runs its own MCP server, which gives G2 subscribers buyer-intent, competitive and review data inside AI assistants.
MartechDB lists only the official MCP servers that martech vendors publish themselves: 1,552 vendors and 1,662 servers as of today. The data is free on the web, in a JSON API and through our own MCP server, and vendors can't pay to be listed.
