MartechDB vs the MCP Registry
The MCP Registry is where servers can be published. MartechDB also finds the martech servers that never were.
01
What the MCP Registry is
The MCP Registry is the official, central metadata registry for publicly available MCP servers, built in the open by MCP contributors and backed by Anthropic, GitHub, PulseMCP and Microsoft. Publishers prove they own a namespace through GitHub, DNS or HTTP checks, so a server named after a domain comes from whoever controls that domain. It stores metadata, not code, and is meant to be read by other directories and marketplaces through its REST API. As of October 2026 it is in preview.
MartechDB lists only the official MCP servers that martech vendors publish themselves: 1,552 vendors and 1,662 servers as of today. The data is free on the web, in a JSON API and through our own MCP server, and vendors can't pay to be listed.

Questions
How many official martech servers are in the registry?
Of the 1,662 official servers MartechDB lists, the official MCP Registry has 452. We found the rest by checking vendor websites.
Does MartechDB use the registry?
Yes. It is one of our sources: we match registry entries to martech vendors by domain and by name, and confirm each one is official.
Should vendors still register their servers?
Yes. Registering makes a server easier for every directory and client to find.
