MartechDB vs Smithery

Smithery connects your agent to tools. MartechDB tells you which martech vendors publish their own server.

01

What Smithery is

Smithery is a platform for connecting AI agents to tools, with a catalogue of tens of thousands of MCP servers. It handles sign-in, credentials and sessions for you, has a command-line tool for adding servers, and marks some listings with a verified badge. Server authors publish to it by giving Smithery the address of a server they host, which Smithery's gateway sits in front of, or by uploading a bundle that clients run locally. Smithery became part of Arcade.dev in August 2026.

MartechDB lists only the official MCP servers that martech vendors publish themselves: 1,552 vendors and 1,662 servers as of today. The data is free on the web, in a JSON API and through our own MCP server, and vendors can't pay to be listed.

Questions

Can I use both?

Yes. Use MartechDB to find a vendor's official server, then connect it however you like, directly or through a platform such as Smithery.

Why does MartechDB list fewer servers?

We list only martech vendors, and only servers the vendor publishes itself. Community-built servers are left out, however popular they are.

Does MartechDB host or run servers?

No. We list the vendor's own server address or package, and you connect to it directly.
